Ungarie Murals and World Globe

For those interested in military history and public art, the Ungarie RSL Memorial Park offers a unique and moving experience. At its centre stands the impressive Giant World Globe, a striking landmark that highlights the global locations where men and women from Ungarie have served in conflicts from the 1890s through to modern times. The globe reflects the town's proud and enduring connection to Australia's military history.
Surrounding the globe is an extensive series of murals stretching more than 60 metres. Rich in detail and historical significance, the artwork depicts scenes from the Boer War, World War I, World War II, the Vietnam War, and the Iran conflict. Featuring between 46 and 50 individual images, the murals capture the stories, sacrifices, and experiences of those who served across generations.
The Giant World Globe and mural installations were created by renowned artist Simon White, whose meticulous craftsmanship and attention to detail have transformed the memorial park into a powerful tribute to military service. Together, these remarkable features provide visitors with an engaging and thought-provoking journey through Australia's wartime history.
