Panel Discussion | Antarctica and the Southern Ocean: Perspectives in Art and Science
Overview
Join them for a morning of insight and discussion as three speakers share their unique perspectives on Antarctica and the Southern Ocean, presented as part of the latest exhibition Ice Pact.
Hear from Curator Jorg Metz, industrial chemist and former Lab Manager at Casey Station, Antarctica, whose firsthand experience on the ice inspired Ice Pact; Dierdre Hanrahan-Tan, PhD candidate researching the Southern Ocean; and Peter McLeish, an artist whose work explores Antarctica, climate change, and the rare phenomenon of red sprite atmospheric disturbances.
Each speaker will present a 15-minute talk drawing on their personal expertise, followed by a 45-minute panel discussion and audience Q&A exploring the connections between their work and what the Antarctic and Southern Ocean environments mean for their future.
Spaces are limited. RSVP below to join the conversation.
