Simon the Bike Guy is a local bike mechanic servicing the Queanbeyan and Canberra region with a mobile van for bike repairs. He has a pop-up tent each Saturday and Sunday at Bowen Park, so that he can service bikes as people cycle around Lake Burley Griffin.
Simon also loves to ride Penny Farthing bikes and can play the guitar as he rides. Simon has recently been made Champion for the 4th year running at the Evandale Penny Farthing Championships in Tasmania in February 2026. Keeping in mind, these bikes have no brakes and no gears!
As a master of excellence, Simon wants to break the Penny Farthing record for the greatest distance travelled for one hour. This Easter event will be a wonderfully unique community event and great to see. There will be a bike race for children, food available and for only a gold coin donation.
