Poetry in Practice: Write and Perform — 4 Week Community Program
Overview
Join them for an, engaging, inclusive, creative, four week writing and performing poetry program. Each session considers aspects of poetry including structure, cadence, language, and purpose. Through facilitation participants will discuss poetry, write poems, read aloud poems; and perform poems. The environment is supportive and creative.
This course is perfect for emerging performers, writers, or anyone curious about poetry. You can attend one session or all four — each session stands alone and welcomes new participants.
Come and discover the power of spoken poetry.
The program is facilitated by Catherine Gordon choir director of Speaking Together, Inc who has an extensive background in education, theatre and publishing.
Speaking Together, Inc is a choir performing choral verse. Choristers turn poems into imaginative, vibrant performances. Recently established on the NSW Central Coast, its purpose is to share the joy of collective poetry speaking. The intention is to have a rich repertoire that includes everything from classic verse to contemporary poetry.
Founded this year, they are an incorporated not-for-profit community choir based on the Central Coast.
