The Northern Rivers Rail Trail

The new Northern Rivers Rail Trail is a 25km long bike trail that winds through the Tweed hinterland from Wooyung to Murwillumbah, passing through the villages of Crabbes Creek, Mooball, Burringbar and Stokers Siding. It consists of a mixture of tarmac and compacted gravel, easy gradients and all with no cars!. It has many old railways bridges, including historic Mills Creek Bridge and Dunbible bridge and two tunnels, one of which is 524 m long.

You will experience a variety of habitats from open fields to rainforest. The majority of the trail is quite shaded due to the quantity of undergrowth over the years. There are regular rest stops and all the points of interest are included in our custom smartphone app, so you always know where you are and how long there is to go.
