Australia's most celebrated short film festival returns to Mullumbimby, bringing the best of Flickerfest to the Northern Rivers. Now marking its 35th year, Flickerfest is Australia's only Academy Award and BAFTA Qualifying short film festival and the country's largest Australian and international short film competition.

Recognised globally for its high-calibre programming, Flickerfest showcases outstanding short films from Australia and around the world — bold, creative and boundary-pushing works that represent the very best in contemporary short filmmaking. Following its iconic summer screening at Bondi Beach, selected highlights tour nationally, with the Northern Rivers a long-standing and much-loved stop on the circuit.

Screening at Mullumbimby Civic Hall, the festival presents a curated selection of standout films handpicked from thousands of entries submitted from more than 100 countries. Audiences can enjoy a rich mix of international highlights alongside the Byron All Shorts finalists, celebrating exceptional filmmaking from the local region.
