Burns Point Ferry

Explore South Ballina and discover some of the Northern Rivers' best fishing spots by crossing the Richmond River on the Burns Point Ferry. The ferry provides the only vehicle access to South Ballina, making it an essential link for visitors heading to South Ballina Beach, 4WD adventures, fishing, camping and nature-based experiences.

The Burns Point Ferry operates daily between Ballina and South Ballina from 5.30am to 12.30am, travelling continuously across the Richmond River with no fixed timetable. Please note the ferry is closed for scheduled maintenance on the second Tuesday of each month from 9.00am to 12.00pm.

Fares can be purchased onboard using EFTPOS only. Cash is not accepted. One-way and weekly passes are available.
