Whitehaven Weeks of Speed Festival

Feel the roar, hear the engines and experience the adrenaline as Gunnedah's annual Whitehaven Weeks of Speed Festival races into town each March. This high‑octane celebration brings together motorsport lovers, thrill‑seekers and families for weeks of heart‑pounding action and country fun.
The festival program is packed with crowd‑favourite events including speedway racing titles, vintage car and hot rod displays, motorbike racing ½‑mile sprints ⅛‑mile drag racing, as well as uniquely local competitions such as the Billy Boiling Competition, Fishing and Shooting Competitions, Clash of the Sirens and an Open Day at the Rural Museum, where you can get up and close to vintage cars, motorbikes and tractors.
When the engines cool down, the festivities continue with live entertainment, food and social events at local venues – the perfect way to kick on after a full day of action.
