Felicia Aroney is a leading Australian textural artist whose distinctive practice is influenced by the
antiquity, texture and patina of aged European architecture and cobbled stone laneways.

Working predominantly with a palette knife, she builds richly layered surfaces that evoke a sense of history, memory and place.

Her snowscape and Cubic series are natural extensions of this textural language. Inspired by Australia's mountainous winter landscapes, her snowscapes are composed of sweeping gestures of paint that create movement, atmosphere and light. In contrast, her abstract Cubic
works explore structure, balance and simplicity, providing a compelling counterpoint to the fluidity and motion found within her snow scenes.
