White Sands Walk

When you think of Jervis Bay on the NSW South Coast you no doubt think of white sand beaches and aqua blue waters. This is the magical scene that awaits on the 2.5km White Sands Walk as you weave through the picturesque Jervis Bay National Park. Stop for a swim, and spot dolphins, birds and echidnas.
This 90 minute return walk begins at Greenfield Beach picnic area in Vincentia and takes you through peaceful coastal forest, offering stunning ocean views along the way. For a longer adventure, start at Plantation Point to include beautiful Blenheim Beach. Stop for a swim at Chinamans Beach, a secluded spot that boasts some of the purest sands in the world.

As you walk, take the time to read signage that explains the native flora and fauna, enjoy a picnic and keep an eye out for resident bottlenose dolphins. Jervis Bay Marine Park is also a haven for seals, penguins, and during migration season, humpback and southern right whales. In Huskisson, you can join a dolphin or whale-watching cruise.

The White Sands Walk concludes at the incredible Hyams Beach. Explore the local area and treat yourself to a refreshing drink or fish and chips at Cooked Goose on Hyams. Return to Greenfield Beach picnic area by retracing your steps or opt for the Scribbly Gum Track, which takes you away from the coastline through tall forest and woodland. If you’re lucky, you might even spot kangaroos and other native animals in the national park.

White Sands Walk starts at Greenfield Beach picnic area and ends at Hyams Beach. From Hyams Beach you can either retrace your steps or opt to take the Scribbly Gum Track back to Greenfield Beach picnic area.
Pedestrian access to the Greenfield Beach picnic area opens directly off the cul-de-sac at the end of Elizabeth Drive, Vincentia.
The White Sands Walk is 2.5kms and takes between 30 and 90 minutes to complete.
Each season is a great time to complete the White Sands Walk. In the warmer months, enjoy a swim along the way at Hyams and Greenfield beaches. In winter, humpback and southern right whales can be spotted migrating northward.
The White Sands Walk is part of Jervis Bay National Park. To protect native wildlife dogs are not permitted.
