The hospital is run by volunteers who are working to return rehabilitating koalas back to the bush. Learn about conservation methods, current research and understanding of the different diseases that affect koalas, and enjoy an interactive wildlife experience with the “Feed, Walk & Talk” program run at 3pm every afternoon.

Enjoy the sights along the Port Macquarie Coastal Walk

This stunning beachside walk is 9km one way, however it can be broken up into smaller 2km increments for an easier route. Starting at the gorgeous Town Beach, meander along the coastline past Flagstaff, to Rocky Beach Lookout until you reach famous Nobby Head. Continue along past Harry’s Lookout, through the Sea Acre National Park until you reach the town’s favourite little lighthouse at Tacking Point. Along the way you’ll see historic sites, rainforest and breathtaking lookouts to the ocean.

Grab your bucket and head to Ricardoes! This environmentally friendly tomato and strawberry farm is just ten minutes north of Port Macquarie and is a great day out with the family. Open 7 days a week, head to Ricardoes for some delicious, juicy strawberries

Billabong Wildlife Park

For an awesome family day out visit Port Macquarie’s Billabong Zoo, Koala & Wildlife Park. Enjoy a close encounter with Australian and exotic animals including snow leopards, cheetahs, dingos, red pandas, penguins and koalas.
