NSW is a beautiful place to spend the Christmas season. Whether you are touring the verdant wine region of the Hunter Valley, enjoying a beachside BBQ on the NSW Central Coast, or heading beyond the hinterland to explore the gorgeous inland of Country NSW, you will find festive magic along the way.
Decorative street light displays are an annual tradition throughout NSW, one in which houses are illuminated with thousands of festive lights in anticipation of the holidays. From December 6 in the small town of Leeton near Griffith, with more than 200 homes are decked out in gorgeous fairy lights and decorations to herald the Christmas spirit in the Light up Leeton event.
Or take the family to the beautiful Pokolbin in the Hunter Valley, for the spell-binding Christmas Lights Spectacular. Running from November 8 to January 26, these charming gardens display thousands of lights in illuminated themes and displays.
For a much loved family tradition, treat the family to the Entrance Carols By Candlelight on the Central Coast. Held under the stars, this annual event is a memorable occasion to enjoy and cherish the seasonal ambiance in a ocean-side beautiful location.On Christmas Eve, there’ll be a visit from Santa and a fantastic fireworks display at 9.00pm.
Gosford’s annual Christmas Parade, which has been running for over 50 years, is a treasured annual tradition with a series of festive floats. For something a little different, check out the Santa Special at Richmond Vale, where Santa arrives by steam train to meet the kids and hand out treats.
Christmas Markets are one of the best places to pick up that hard-to-find or unique gift. Visit the Christmas Fair at Kariong on the Central Coast on December 6. The picturesque Southern Highlands Christmas Fair, running from 12 to 13 December in Sutton Forest, will have over 200 stalls.
