Whether you are an avid walker, a nature enthusiast or simply love getting out and about with a great crowd in a spectacular setting, the 5 Lands Walk is one event you won’t want to miss in New South Wales this winter.
It is a great opportunity to be part of a brilliant and friendly crowd and see the Central Coast in a whole new light – there are plenty of fun and free cultural events near the surf clubs at a number of popular beaches in the area, including Avoca, North Avoca and Copacabana.
Each year, the walk is held as close to the winter solstice as possible, and many of the events honour the coming of spring – as well as the promise of longer and warmer days ahead! Of course, it is essential to dress for the weather, so be sure to keep your eye on the local forecast.
If you plan on travelling to take part in the 5 Lands Walk, why not make the most of your journey by staying for a few days and taking in all the area has to offer? Overnight Walk and Wildlife packages are available from the Visit Central Coast website or you can make your own arrangements in terms of accommodation.
Staying in the lively holiday town of Terrigal, for example, gives you access to a range of exciting activities, including excellent surfing conditions, diving, boating and scenic walks. If you are feeling brave, you can even try hang gliding at nearby Forresters Beach!
Here, you will also find a friendly cafe culture, as well as great restaurants and of course, its stunning four-kilometre beach, which is beautiful at any time of year.
