Images are incredibly powerful, they can change thought processes, inspire dreams, flood our eyes with tears or make us laugh till our sides hurt.
I am a Newcastle based amateur photographer and have had an interest in photography for the last 28 years, however the introduction of the digital SLR really captured my attention. I am self taught and enjoy continuing to expand my knowledge with each shoot. In the modern era, photography doesn’t just end with the press of the shutter button, and mastering the art of post processing, or the “Digital Darkroom”; is just as important. I love the creativity this also allows.
I enjoy all types of photography, however landscape photography has become a major part of my portfolio of late. The potential to witness and capture an amazing sunrise will drive me out of bed early every time, however capturing the wild beauty of Mother Nature through storm photography is something that feeds that passion tremendously. Stormchasing has allowed me to witness some pretty amazing scenes, and the feeling you get when you know that the shutter was open when a large bolt of lightning drops out of a cloud is very rewarding.
Thank you all for reading, I hope you enjoy this beautiful region of ours through my eyes.
Best regards,
Mick.
