If I had to pin down one thing I love to photograph the most I’d say sunrises – every one of them is a surprise. My photography is really an accidental byproduct of my love of bushwalking, and photographing sunrises has evolved out of circumstance. Juggling a demanding career/family life, I ‘m up and out pre-dawn to make the most of the early hours. The upside to a 4am start is that I see some spectacular sunrises, and I’ve done a lot of bushwalking in the dark to be in the right place at the right time.
I’m a vey passionate supporter of NSW’s national parks, we truly are spoiled. From the picturesque Solitary Island Marine Park in Coffs Harbour to the world famous Blue Mountains National Park, and all the way south to the wild Kosciuszko National Park in the Snowy Mountains, we have the most amazing protected areas. It’d make me really happy if any part of my accidental photography inspires people to visit and fall in love with these places.
