Shannon Hartigan is an international award winning fine art landscape photographer based in Newcastle, Australia. Completely self-taught, his career was conceived on a trip to the Northern Territory over 10 years ago. Equipped with a 35mm SLR, some rolls of Fuji Velvia and a tripod, he started shooting the epic scenery.
“..looking back on that trip, they were just average shots but there was a few that really stood out and that was enough to spark the passion..”. Landscape photography to Shannon is a re-connection with mother earth, “..it allows you stop and take it in and really appreciate it…There’s beauty all around us but most of us are too caught up with day to day life to notice, we all need to get out and re-connect every now and then..”
In 2009, Shannon quit his job to focus on photography full time and a few months later opened his first Gallery in Newcastle. Three years later the business outgrew the space and he opened his current Gallery at 91 Hunter Street, Newcastle NSW.
Shannon’s photography quickly earned him international acclaim and now boasts a total of 57 International Awards. He now sells his Limited Edition prints to corporate and private clients all over Australia and Worldwide.
