Think delicious, think sumptuous, think Tweed Foodie Fest! This is the place to be for food lovers from November 27 to December 1.
Chefs and producers from around Tweed Area on the North Coast area are coming together to offer visitors the best tastes and textures they can possibly imagine. In addition to this, you can head to this sunny area and take up the offer for a local farm tour, the signature dinner party or one of the many cooking classes or food preparation workshops.
It all began as a humble ‘Foodie Friday’ in 2011 that attracted an impressive 800 people. Already, the festival has grown to a five-day foodie extravaganza that fuses local food and culture with events spread out across the Tweed region.
Some of the Tweed Heads restaurants will be participating in the event, so be sure to book a table to support some of the local business while you’re in the area.
The Ivory Tavern is a stunning waterfront bistro with a vibrant music scene and plenty of tasty cocktails and cold local beers on tap. Pop in for a relaxed afternoon in the sunshine or a fun evening with a bubbly atmosphere and great menu options. To really get into the foodie side of things, Regatta Steak & Seafood lives up to its name, offering takeaways you can have on the beach or a dining area to enjoy the food in-house for a relaxed lunch or dinner in the recently refurbished restaurant.
To make the most for the five-day festival book your accommodation at one of the Tweed Heads accommodation options and stay for the entire event. This way, you’ll be able to ensure you get to sample as much of the produce on offer.
