Now in its 13th year, La Festa showcases Griffith’s premium food and wine industry, its multicultural community and a wealth of traditional arts and music.
Enjoy the great produce that makes Griffith stand out as the food bowl of NSW. Celebrity chef Lyndey Milan will use the freshest ingredients in her Flavours of Griffith cooking demonstrations at the Calabria Wines Chef Marquee. Learn how to cook pancetta wrapped turkey braised in perry (pear cider), and discover the tricks to baking a great spiced orange and olive oil dessert cake. If you’re left feeling hungry, head to the La Festa Food Alley where you’ll find everything from handmade pies to Turkish gozlemes, and homemade icecream to Dutch pancakes. Sample premium drops as some of Griffith’s best wineries exhibit through the gardens, and savour more Australian-made beverages at the ABC Beer & Cider Marquee.
Catch live music and entertainment throughout the day with a wide range of musical styles and cultural dances on show. You’ll hear everything from country, jazz and acoustic, to rock ‘n’ roll and disco, playing on the Griffith Musician’s Club Main Stage. Latin American, Cook Island and New Zealand dancers will perform alongside Zumba and hip-hop troupes on the Griffith Avanti Rotary Club Community Stage.
A number of other Easter events will be held away from the Community Gardens. Head to Memorial Park from 9am for the Children’s Easter Brunch on Banna and grab a bargain at the Sidewalk Sale on Banna Avenue. IOOF Park will also be alive with activity with jet boat rides and kombi van displays.
Book your Griffith accommodation and immerse yourself in culture at La Festa during an enjoyable weekend away.
