Defying gravity: Newton’s Nation

29 October 2013

Newton's Nation Newcastle

There’s a new breed of stuntmen in town. They get around on two wheels – sometimes four – and do things you would have thought were impossible, anywhere but on a movie screen.

So get to Newcastle for the weekend of 2-3 November, to see all the action for Newton’s Nation, an exciting event in Newcastle for enthusiasts interested in the skate, bike and scooter categories.

Newton’s Nation has already established itself as a mecca for Australia’s best riders. The 2013 event will offer visitors the chance to see free races and ramp competitions from 10am to 4pm both days.

The names of the events themselves are enough to entice you along, with the “King of Dirt” competition paving the way for the Australian BMX freestyle champions to show us their skills, while the “Be The Influence” competition opens up as the National Skate BoarderX round 2. Finally the Australian Scooter Association series round will see some of the best scooter action you’ve ever witnessed – on or off the screen.

DJs have already been booked, more sports are still to be announced, and the Newcastle summer is set to put on the kind of show that will leave everyone with tans and smiles.

There are plenty of central Newcastle accommodation choices that will give you a great night’s sleep after an exhilarating day of watching the athletes performing their gravity-defying stunts.
