16 August 2013
If you’re the kind of person who loves those free food tasting tests at the supermarket, then this is the festival for you.
For just one day, the Bangalow Showground will come alive with restaurant stalls and exhibitors from all over the region specialising in local produce and meals.
Head along for cooking demonstrations, a Byron Farmers Market and a program just for the kids.
More than 20 restaurants will be offering delicious and highly affordable plates to the public for $5 and $10. Celebrity judges will be tasting the plates alongside visitors who take up this opportunity, only they will be the ones deciding the winners of the prestigious 2013 Golden Fork Awards.
Imagine if they did that at the supermarket – so don’t miss it at the festival!
If you need something to wash all those morsels down with, try out the beer garden or even the wine marquee, and relax as you enjoy the live music and atmosphere that can only come with the presence of great food.
The event is now in its third year, so while it is out of the teething years where it streamlines the entire process, it is still as yet somewhat undiscovered, which is the perfect time to head along and try it out before the secret spreads.
And the best thing of all? Entry into the event is just as free as entry into the supermarket, only this time, the samples are in abundance and there won’t be a wayward trolley in sight.
