Sean O’Shea is a professional photographer/artist who lives in Byron Bay on the Far North Coast of NSW. His unique imagery is captured whilst doing what he enjoys most, walking the spectacular tracks and beaches of Byron Bay.
Sean walks the magnificent Cape Byron track, a 3.7km loop, on a regular basis. It is here that he captures many of his images including views of cliff tops, the ocean, the Byron Bay Lighthouse, Wollumbin (Mt Warning) and distant mountain ranges, the abundant wildlife which lives happily in the coastal rainforest and agile surfers.
His stunning photographs are often miniscule moments in time, capturing unexpected events like when a bottlenose dolphin jumps out of the Turquoise waters of Tallow Beach whilst a lone surfer looks on in awe.
Sean has a great love and respect for the wildlife of the bay and he particularly enjoys watching and photographing the local bird life especially the Osprey who are magnificent to watch in flight. He experiences special moments like witnessing and recording a pod of dolphins escorting a whale and baby from Cosy Corner to Wategos Beach, bringing him a great sense of wonderment and understanding of how precious our environment is.
Byron Bay is a nature lovers paradise and offers a great deal of inspiration to Sean, walking with camera in hand, which he finds to be the perfect compliment to his art practice.
