Blake Mink is a self taught landscape, seascape and water photographer. His photography journey began 18 months ago when a university course he was undertaking required the use of a camera. Photography quickly became his passion and as a result, early morning starts, searching for the best shot became the norm.
Blake’s photographs are mostly taken in his hometown of Newcastle with some shots from other areas of NSW and Australia. Having grown up in the beautiful seaside city, taking advantage of and capturing the unique beauty of local landmarks and some lesser known spots and being able to showcase them through his beautiful photographs really means a lot to him and it is something he is very passionate about.
As Blake has grown up in and around water, having a complete professional water housing for his camera allows him to take some beautiful photographs of waves at his local beaches. It’s hard to deny Blake’s passion for wave photography when discovering his frequent early morning ventures to the beach before the sun has risen often on icy cold mornings in search of the perfect wave shot. For Blake, these photographs and all photographs he takes are a unique moment in time that only he has captured. Never to be captured or experienced again exactly how they were in that moment.
Photography has given Blake the pleasure and opportunity to meet like minded people. Whether they are avid photographers like himself or curious bystanders intrigued to see the beauty he captures.
Six months ago Blake launched his Facebook page and a website for his photography which has allowed him to share his photographs with a wider range of people. Giving them the opportunity to purchase some of his unique work.
