12 February 2013
If you are looking for the perfect place to combine your love of arts and culture with your passion for the beach, there’s no better opportunity than the seventh annual Byron Bay International Film Festival.
This exciting ten-day event is set to kick off on March 1 and you’ll find it offers the perfect chance to take in an exciting selection of films across all genres from around the world.
You’ll find a film for everyone in Byron Bay in March – and if you are in the area on February 25 you might even be lucky enough to take in a free beachside screening as a taste of things to come.
While the festival is a great opportunity to brush up on your film knowledge, it is also an excellent chance for Australian filmmakers to network with like-minded people from all around the world. Several workshops and discussion panels run alongside the festival – these range in length from 60 minutes to more than two hours.
Film students and professionals may find that the opening weekend of the festival is a particularly useful networking opportunity – you can purchase an Opening Weekend Filmmakers’ Pass to take advantage of the skills-enhancing workshops and events hosted from March 1 to 3.
In addition to allowing access to invitation-only areas, filmmakers with passes can also gain entry to the Filmmakers’ Bar and the Gala Red Carpet Opening Party, which will be held on March 1.
The spectacular Closing Party is always a sell-out too, so if you plan to attend one of the gala events, it is well worth reserving your tickets in advance.
The $200 Delegate Pass can only be purchased online in advance from the festival website – and early birds will find that it is also an excellent opportunity to gain priority booking for the 2014 event! Check out your options for Byron Bay accommodation here.
