Celebrate trans-Tasman rivalry and meet members of the Qantas Wallabies during the Bledisloe Cup Festival’s exciting line-up of events ahead of the Bledisloe Cup test match at Sydney’s ANZ Stadiumon Saturday, 16 August.
The Qantas Wallabies’ pursuit of their first Bledisloe Cup triumph since 2002 has begun in Country New South Wales, with the team embarking on Bush2Bledisloe this week, a five-day rural road trip through Dubbo, Orange, Bathurst and Penrith. Fans in all four communities have the unique opportunity to meet their Qantas Wallabies heroes as part of daily open training and fan activity sessions.
Sydney fans can don their finest black or gold outfits for the Bledisloe Races at the newly refurbished Randwick Racecourse on Saturday, 9 August. The Official Rugby & Racing Luncheon will feature appearances by Qantas Wallabies Captain Michael Hooper amongst other special guests and is hosted Fox Sports’ Greg Clark. Indulge in a three-course luncheon complete with a five-hour beverage package in the Ballroom of the QEII Grandstand.
Bledisloe Bay will takeover Circular Quay’s First Fleet Park from 10am – 6.30pm on Thursday, 14 August. Fans can meet Qantas Wallabies players and have their photo taken with the famous Bledisloe Cup trophy or a giant inflatable trophy. Try the horizontal bungee and take part in a range of other sporting activities for a chance to win great prizes. A historical display celebrates the iconic and passionate trans-Tasman rivalry by highlighting some famous Bledisloe Cup sporting moments.
The Bledisloe Cup Festival will culminate with the Bledisloe Cup test match at Sydney’s ANZ Stadium on Saturday, 16 August. After a series blackout in 2013, the Qantas Wallabies will be out to break the 12 year Bledisloe Cup drought in the ensuing fight for the historic and impressive silverware.
