Stand on the very rooftop of Australia at Mount Kosciuszko summit lookout, 2228m above sea level.

On a clear day, the 360-degree views stretch as far as the eye can see. Look towards Etheridge Range and Rawson Pass, or back across to craggy Mount Townsend, Abbott Peak and Alice Rawson Peak, and down into the Geehi Valley and Victoria.

This iconic Snowy Mountains experience can be reached via 3 walking tracks. For the shortest option, take the chairlift (fees apply) from Thredbo and follow the elevated Kosciuszko walk, to be on the summit in around 2 hours. From Charlotte Pass, you can walk or cycle along Summit trail as far as Rawson Pass, then continue the final 1.4km on foot. Intrepid, well-prepared hikers can hike the challenging Main Range walk from Charlotte Pass.

Always check conditions before you set out.
