The world's first festival celebrating Australia's best loved animal, the koala - presented by the award-winning Hello Koalas Sculpture Trail.

September is a great time to visit Port Macquarie and join in the fun of the Hello Koalas Festival Treasure Hunt. This year they are following the theme of 'Search and Rescue' in collaboration with their new Festival charity partner, Westpac Rescue Helicopter Service.

Find the elusive 'Chief' Westpac Rescue Helicopter Pilot and go into the draw to win a helicopter flight over Port Macquarie.

Search and rescue 29 other specially selected Hello Koalas sculptures around Port Macquarie. Family groups welcome. Dress up as your favourite Hello Koalas character. Post social photos and win prizes.

Don't miss The Artist and Artisan Markets beside the Mid North Coast Maritime Museum and Hastings Valley Fine Art Gallery on World Tourism Day.

All participants receive a Hello Koalas Festival Certificate of Achievement from the Hello Koalas Tree House Shop in Port Macquarie, and meet another brand new sculpture Frankie Firefighter.

It's free to participate in the Treasure Hunt - register online now!

And exciting for all ages - discover beautifully painted koala sculptures dotted across the landscape and learn more about the koala and how you can all protect and preserve Australia's most iconic animal.

And it's a COVID safe way to have a holiday!
