Jeff Wilcox Memorial

Jeff Wilcox was a young man with a bright future. He was a member of the Great Lakes community who was full of life, and bursting with enthusiasm and energy. He was a brilliant sportsman with amazing potential, excelling in bodyboarding and hockey. Sadly, Jeff passed away from a very aggressive cancer aged 14 and left a legacy behind.
Starting as a simple bodyboarding competition, it quickly evolved into one of the most respected and prestigious competitions held in the sport of bodyboarding. From day one this memorial set out to showcase the life and enthusiasm for the water and friendly competition that Jeff had, and it succeeded in abundance.
Drawing some of the countries best bodyboarders and talented locals, the event has a renowned respect amongst top performing competitors. Past winners include Ash Murray, Troy DeCoque, Ben Holland, Ben Player, Andrew Lester, Damien King, Levi Wagner and Mitch Rawlins, Adam Keegan, Lilly Pollard to name a few.
The event has a number of locations to choose from to get the best possible surf conditions over the weekend. Included is Tuncurry Beach, One mile Beach, Boomerang Beach and Blueys Beach
