The Northern Rivers Rail Trail will be a cycle/walkway on a disused railway line, running from Casino to Murwillumbah in the Northern Rivers Region of NSW. It will run through beautiful countryside including farmland, coastal areas and rainforest with many towns and villages along the way. The trail will be relatively flat so an easy ride and walk for families and retirees.

The Rail Trail will be for the local community to use for getting to school, work and sport, shopping and recreation and by visitors seeking either a new way to experience the region’s scenery, food and culture or a more adventurous experience.

The trail will go through 4 council areas 3 of which have already received government funding. The first section from Murwillumbah to Crabbes Creek in the Tweed area, will be completed by the end of 2022. The section from Casino to Bentley is also underway and will be completed soon after.

Bentley to Lismore has been funded and will commence construction soon.

This valuable community asset must not continue to go to waste.
