Phoenix Park Farm Gate
Call it quaint, rustic or charming, the roadside stalls that you will find throughout the city are a quintessential part of the country drive experience. With farms spread across Maitland’s farthest reaches it’s easy to fill the vegetable crisper. Simply follow the roads that seem to wind into the horizon to discover Maitland’s rural landscape and rich organic farmland.
Phoenix Park Farmer Jesse Clarke is one of their hard working local organic farmers, who is passionate about the slow food earth movement and ensuring that local restaurants and the community have access to fresh, sustainable and chemical free produce at a fair price.
Jesse has taken over the reins of the family farm from his father and you can find his property by taking the first left after crossing Morpeth Bridge heading away from the main street of Morpeth.
Follow Phoenix Park Farm on Facebook and Instagram to keep up to date with farm gate stall dates.
Phoenix Park Farm is also a regular contributor the Slow Food Earth Market Maitland that operate at The Levee, Central Maitland on the first and third Thursday of each month. The first of its kind in Australia, these markets are run by members and community volunteers who are making sure that access to good clean and fair food for all, is a reality in Maitland.
