Griffith is a small country town in the Riverina located about two hours’ drive from Wagga Wagga. A significant proportion of the town’s population are of Italian heritage, and as a result Griffith is known for its great local produce and high-quality wines. This cultural heritage is also reflected in the town’s events calendar, which has a strong focus on local food.
Griffith is a part of the Taste Riverina Food Festival, a celebration of the wider region’s local food and wine. Held on Easter, La Festa is one of the region’s biggest festivals, and Griffith’s biggest food event. Don’t miss a chance to try some of the area’s best wines at unWINEd, or a delicious long lunch at the Festa delle Salsicce (Festival of the Sausage), which marks the end of the salami-making season.
Across the region, Wagga Wagga’s events include festivals, local markets, cycling events, arts and music performances, and the Wagga Wagga Show, a family-friendly weekend including rides, games, market stalls and fireworks displays.
