Once Upon a Picture Book

Thursday 24 January 2019 to Friday 22 February 2019

Freya Blackwood’s original illustrations are highly sought after. She no longer offers new works for sale.

Once Upon a Picture Book is a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to purchase remaining originals. Also available will be signed and numbered giclee editioned prints of works in the exhibition.

Freya has been illustrating children’s picture-books for over 15 years and started winning awards with her very first book, Two Summers by John Heffernan.

Freya has since won or been short-listed in significant book awards every year, and in 2010 she won the prestigious Kate Greenaway Award in United Kingdom.

In 2016 Freya won across three categories in the Children’s Book Council of Australia Awards, a first time for these nationwide awards.

The Peisley St Gallery aims to bring both known and new visual voices to The Peisley St Gallery, introducing local art lovers to a range of artists from afar as well as following the work of those we know and love.

The Peisley St Gallery opened in October 2018 with a group exhibition of local artists to coincide with the Orange Wine Festival. Exhibitions have been running back-to-back since that time. 2019 is now fully booked and the gallery is accepting submissions for 2020.
