Tea and Sound Meditation
Saturday 18 April 2020
Many traditional cultures have used both the drinking of tea or the use of sound to induce positive states of well-being. In this experiential session you will explore both healing modalities.
Using traditional Tibetan and crystal singing bowls to produce the sound and rare teas from China and Korea to drink, you may feel enhanced relaxation, focussed concentration and increased harmony and mindfulness. Studies have demonstrated that both tea and sound therapy may lower blood pressure, lower cholesterol, diminish stress and have positive effects on anxiety and depression.
Your host Stephen Carroll is a Meditation Teacher and holds a Certificate of Tea Meditation from the Puruncha Culture Institute, South Korea. He has travelled the world studying tea production, culture and use as a traditional healing herb. He has worked in the tea industry for many years and is the co-director of Tea Guild International.
Stephen holds a Certificate of Traditional Tea Medicine and Tea Therapeutic and a Diploma of Tea Culture and teaches courses on tea culture and appreciation across Australia and internationally.
