Event dates to be confirmed: March 2018
The small village of Emmaville, north of Glen Innes, may be better known for its agricultural and mining history, but it is the home of an annual event that must not be missed - The Emmaville Sheep Races!
Displaying the good-natured humour you would expect from a country town, in previous years the locals have cheered on thoroughbred racers such as "Lamb Chop", "Woolley Jumper", "Suzie Ewe", "Barry Baa Baa" and "Sunday Roast".
The day's fun incudes markets, stalls, raffles and of course, the must have element of any good race meet - fashions on the field. With refreshments available from the drinks Baa and meals from the Baa Baa Que, you will surely feel sheepish if you miss out on the fantastic short break in New England's Northern Tablelands.
