Wyong
In between the glittering Tuggerah Lake and rugged Watagan Mountains, discover a bustling inland town rich in heritage, outdoor adventures and indulgent experiences. One of the gateways to the NSW Central Coast, Wyong offers something for everyone. Enjoy a round of golf, a show at the local arthouse, and speciality cheeses and chocolates.
Outdoor adventures
Wyong is a great launchpad for experiencing the enchanting forests and sparkling waterways that criss-cross through the area’s national parks. The Watagans is a beautiful string of forests, where you can try mountain biking, bushwalking, abseiling, zip-lining, paintball games and off-road adventures.
At TreeTop Adventure Park, you can soar through the treetops of Ourimbah State Forest on zip-lines or flying foxes, and there are supervised courses for kids as young as three. The Jilliby State Conservation Area is popular for 4WD touring, mountain biking, horse riding and bushwalking. You can also meet alpacas at a nearby farm experience.
Rugged surf beaches and other aquatic adventures await in Bateau Bay, Toowoon Bay, The Entrance and Norah Head. A range of water sports can also be enjoyed on Tuggerah Lake and the surrounding coastal lagoons. Take the 25min drive from Wyong to Crackneck Point lookout, a vantage point near Bateau Bay for spotting whales on their annual migration.
Food & culture
Check out the colourful events calendar at The Art House, Wyong’s music, comedy and arts venue. Head to the lovingly restored Wyong Milk Factory to sample handmade local produce, including Little Creek Cheese and Luka Chocolates.
