On the banks of the beautiful Moruya River in the Eurobodalla region of the NSW South Coast, Moruya is a surprising destination with a host of adventurous pursuits complemented by tranquil scenery and beautiful beaches.
Historic Quarry Park, just north of the town on the river, is the site that provided the granite for many of Sydney's landmarks including the pylons of the Sydney Harbour Bridge. Stroll along the boardwalk up to the rotunda to read about the area's history and settle in for a picnic in an idyllic riverside location. Learn more about the town's past and what life was like here in the 1800s at the Moruya Museum or admire the historic buildings in the Moruya Heritage Area.

The Moruya River is ideal for watersports. Hire a kayak from the The Boat Shed at Mossy Point (just 15 minutes' north) and go for a lazy paddle or stretch yourself on the Moruya Kayaking Trail. The trail has two parts – a 14-kilometre round trip in pretty surrounds to the east and a 12-kilometre paddle out to Deua National Park to the west.

Walk to the Moruya Heads lookout for views of the mouth of the Moruya River and to spot whales during the winter migration season. On the other side of the river, the breakwall juts out almost 500 metres into the ocean and is a popular spot for fishing. The Bingi Dreaming Track follows in the footsteps of the Brinja-Yuin people, a 14-kilometre trail stretching between Congo and Tuross Head through glorious coastal scenery with views of Gulaga (Mount Dromedary) and Baranguba (Montague Island).
