Attraction - Natural Nangar National Park is situated on 9,196 hectares, about ten kilometres from the historic township of Eugowra, near Orange, in the heart of country NSW.
One of the National Park’s main features is the 770 metre high Mount Nangar, which is part of the Nangar-Murga Range, a scenic highlight of the otherwise flat Central West region of NSW. There are interesting walks and views from the escarpment.
The Nangar Range has long been associated with bushrangers. They used these mountains as a thoroughfare for quick escapes between Murga, Eugowra and Canowindra.
It has camping and caravan sites, with an amenities block, picnic and barbecue facilities. There are also trails suitable for walking, cycling or horse riding, as well as four wheel drive touring routes.
Its forests, rich in flowering shrubs, are an important wildlife refuge in a landscape that has been largely cleared.
