Dunedoo Bush Poetry Festival - Festivals and Celebrations

The Dunedoo Bush Poetry Festival is three days of Bush Poetry Competitions, Street Theatre, Puppetry, Music, Market Stalls and Comedy Entertainment. Something for every one of all ages! Anyone can have a go in this supportive environment so join in the fun over the weekend!

The Festival starts on Thursday night (March 5th) with a Meet and Greet at the Caravan Park. A barbecue will be available along with entertainment provided by the local Sing Australia group.

On Friday (March 6th) there is a bus tour of the local area with commentary by die hard locals. Bookings are essential. The Poetry Competition begins on Friday at the Central School Hall with junior sections for primary and secondary students.

Friday night is the Yarns Telling at the Golf Club. There is $250 prize money up for grabs for the best yarn not told before at the Dunedoo Festival.

The Saturday morning markets will take on a new beginning with interesting demonstrations and displays with early Australian music adding atmosphere.

The Saturday competition sections include Novice, Classical, Original and Contemporary. Each section has its own prize money with $200 each for the champion male and female poet.

On Saturday night, Milton Taylor and Lennie Knight will be the guest artists along with a medley of poets and a great time is assured.

To finish the Festival, enjoy a Poet's Breakfast and Brawl from 8am in Lions Milling Park.
