Attraction - Dining and Eating Out, Food and Wine, Shopping, Wineries, Vineyards and Breweries Opened in 1993, the Port Stephens Winery is situated in the heart of the Tomaree Peninsula just two and a half hours north of Sydney and a short 15 minutes from Nelson Bay, and offers a friendly and relaxing atmosphere in a natural setting.
First planted in 1984, the Port Stephens Winery is one of Australia's most unique wineries. The vineyard has deep sandy soils, an abundance of fresh ground water and cool sea breezes from the unique coastal location enabling the winery to produce exceptional boutique wines that are made with traditional methods. The result of over 10 years of research and development is a wine rich in fruit character and light in body.
Port Stephens Winery offers a Cellar Door to sample the winery's labels, a Boutique Wine Centre to buy wines from small independently owned Australian wineries (the majority of the wines are not available through mainstream liquor outlets), The Vines Alfresco Cafe for light lunches and morning/afternoon tea, a picnic area, and an outlet for gourmet food products.
Port Stephens Winery also has many events during the year including the Annual Jazz at the Winery event, as well as courses at the Wine Academy from Beginners to Wine, to the Advanced Wine Lover.
Open Time Open Daily except on Good Friday (closed) and Christmas Day (closed). Group functions can be arranged. | |
