Experienced guides from Snowy River Horseback Adventure lead riders along old stock routes and brumby trails through forests of snow gums. On horseback you’ll enjoy the beautiful Snowy Mountains and Australia’s highest peaks.
From October to May, two- to five-day homestead-based horseback treks combine adventure and comfort. Trails meander along pretty streams and climb to vantage points with splendid views of valleys, mountain ranges and the Snowy River gorge.
Horses are carefully matched to riders and guides are accredited. You’ll enjoy delicious gourmet picnic lunches, carried by a pack horse. Back at the homestead, you’ll savour three-course dinners prepared by a chef using fresh local produce.
Snowy River Horseback Adventure offers a return passenger pickup service from Cooma and Jindabyne, which is five hours’ drive from Sydney. There are also buses from Sydney to Cooma and Jindabyne. Airlines from Sydney service Canberra airport, where you can a rent car for the 80-minute drive to Cooma or two-hour drive to Jindabyne.
