National Parks and Wildlife Service - Cape Byron Trust

Cape Byron Headland Reserve is located in North-Eastern New South Wales, three kilometres from the township of Byron Bay. The Reserve is managed by the Cape Byron Trust which is a voluntary, non profit, community body empowered by the provisions of the New South Wales National Park and Wildlife Act with the care, control and management of the Reserve.

The Reserve offers a magnificent cliff top walking track which winds its way through diverse plant communities, offering panoramic views of the ocean and north coast hinterland.

The Cape Byron Lighthouse has stood on the most easterly point of the Australian mainland for a century. The rugged headland, surrounded by sheltered rainforest gullies and subtropical waters, is a great spot for watching turtles, dolphins and humpback whales on their annual migration.
