The Sydney Weekender Team

Peter Wells

Pete has a passion for adventure and is forever chasing new experiences. He has climbed to the top of Mt Everest, paddled across Bass Strait, and visited nomads by camel in the Sahara Desert. He has also travelled across the Tibetan plains to climb the monstrous 8,201m peak 'Mt Cho Oyu'.

When he is not travelling, ocean paddling, mountaineering, or chasing waves in Indonesia, Pete enjoys surfing Sydney's northern beaches and the South Coast. Pete has a degree in Applied Science and a Graduate Diploma in Town Planning, and worked as a town planner for a number of years before pursuing his dream job.

“I've always loved exploring, being outdoors, and looking for my next adventure. I started capturing my trips on video, mucking around and interviewing the locals for fun. It just went from there”.

Pete’s adventures have taken him to the freakiest places on Earth - to the top of the world dodging frostbite and to the bottom of the ocean dodging sharks. He’s ridden an angry one tonne bull and been blasted to incredible speeds in a dragster.

He’s the action man of Sydney Weekender, taking the audience on spectacular journeys with adventure company Adrenalin. In recent episodes Pete’s been racing V8 Supercars, pulling 7 Gs in a real fighter jet and jumping out of planes at 14,000 feet!
