Willow Tree

Host: Mike Whitney

Situated halfway between Scone and Tamworth is the picturesque town of Willow Tree. With a population of only 169 people you might be forgiven for not knowing too much about this place, but thanks to a little restaurant called Graze, this town has earned a place on the ‘foodie’ map.

Willow Tree is all about beef and the steaks being served up at Graze Restaurant have been voted as some of the best in the state. The secret is in the cattle, farmed only 2km away in the stunning Colly Creek, these prime cattle are kept super happy and as a result they’re producing superior quality Black Angus beef. The meat is dry aged in a temperature controlled room for 5 weeks, making it really tender and with such a short distance between the produce and the restaurant this is sure to be the shortest ‘paddock to plate’ experience you’ll ever have. The end product is a perfectly juicy, award-winning steak that’ll have you immediately planning your trip back to Willow Tree.

While you’re in town put your feet up at the Willow Tree Inn. This fabulous accommodation consists of 8 cabins ranging from basic hotel suites to the more luxurious King Lodge. Stylish and spacious these lodges include a huge king size bed where you can spread out and relax. They also contain their own ensuite and verandah overlooking the gardens, perfect for relaxing with a glass of wine.
