Get ready for a wild ride with ‘Wings Over Illawarra’. This is a great day out if you’re someone who goes crazy for planes, trains and automobiles. If it’s planes you love there’s a continuous program of air events on the day, with the formal flying program commencing at 11am. As well as the entertainment taking place above you, there will be a variety of aircraft displayed on the ground to explore.
If you’re more interested in ground dwelling machinery there are heaps of displays showcasing a range of vintage cars and trucks, classic motorbikes and steam powered farm machinery that you can take a look at.
Park at the Illawarra Light Rail Museum and for a gold coin donation you can hitch a ride on a steam train and then hop on a double decker bus to the show. With heaps of food stalls and free entertainment for the kids, this is a fantastic family day out. ‘Wings Over Illawarra’ takes off on Sunday May 6th at Illawarra Regional Airport.
