While autumn and spring are the highlight seasons, winter and tropical gardens have their own style. Flower & Garden Events in NSW
Garden events not to miss include the Sakura Matsuri Cherry Blossom Festival in Cowra in September, Tulip Time in the Southern Highlands from September to October, Leura Gardens Festival in October, Batlow Apple Blossom Festival in October, Grafton Jacaranda Festival from October to November and the Bathurst Spring Spectacular Garden Weekend in October. Close to Sydney, garden festivals are at Berry, Bundanoon and Galston while further afield, you can combine the best of both worlds - beautiful gardens with beautiful regional locations that include the Hunter Valley, the Blue Mountains, Southern Highlands and Central NSW towns of Bathurst, Oberon, Cowra and Millthorpe.

There are hundreds of private gardens of every size, style and description across NSW that are open to the public throughout the year. Old and young, large and small, from inner city courtyards to grand country estates, from tropical gardens to the more traditional gardens of the temperate south.
In addition to privately owned gardens that are only opened once or twice a year, there are many gardens throughout NSW that are opened more regularly.
