Beaches around Forster

The 43km stretch of coast from Forster south to Seal Rocks encompasses some of the most beautiful and least-congested surfing locations in NSW, with One Mile effectively being Forster’s town beach.

Forster-Tuncurry, twin towns split by the narrow entrance of Wallis Lake, are a very popular family holiday destination. With so many family-friendly beaches in the area, some patrolled during summer holidays, you've just got to take your pick, pack boards and buckets and enjoy!

Check out the rockpool at the southern end of Nine Mile Beach at Tuncurry, Main Beach and the ocean baths in Forster and the southern end of One Mile Beach.

Favourite surf spots are many and varied. When the swell is big there are spots around Forster that are great, notably the reef break known as Haydon’s Rock. At Burgess Beach, you'll enjoy great body surfing when the conditions are right; Seven Mile Beach has spots with great waves most of the time and Boomerang Beach and Blueys at Pacific Palms are well known surfing beaches.
