Bega
Must do
Best beaches around Bega
Then Bega region is renowned for a pristine marine environment and beautiful beaches, many surrounded by rocky craggs and headlands, with rockpools and sheltered bays. Some beaches are best explored on foot. These include the cliffs, sea caves and rock stacks in Mimosa Rocks National Park and the dramatic and wild coastline of Ben Boyd National Park.
Tathra is a great family beach with a wide surf beach and an historic wharf, perfect for fishing. Merimbula is another popular holiday spot with a great beach. The sandbank known as Merimbula Bar is one of the South Coast’s true postcard waves while, at the other end, it's great for relaxing and beach walks. Middle Beach, just north of the headland, is just one of the places where you can learn to surf.
