In Country NSW, head to Orange to buy from local potters, browse antique bazaars, and visit fascinating museums and award-winning art galleries. Cinefiles can even catch a movie at the oldest operational movie theatre in the country! Bathurst, also in the region, is worth a visit for its rich history and breathtaking architecture.
In NSW's World Heritage-listed Blue Mountains, you'll find fine old book stores, antique toy and teddy bear emporiums and galleries featuring glass works, original paintings, ceramics and sculptures. There's even a quirky teapot museum with thousands of teapots on display.
Art exhibitions, galleries and museums are dotted all over Jervis Bay on NSW's South Coast. Head inland to Berry to check out examples of elegant classical architecture and several interesting local galleries. You'll also find great arts and crafts around Kangaroo Valley and Milton.
The famous Living Desert is just out of Broken Hill on the fringes of NSW's Outback region, and it's here you'll find breathtaking sandstone sculptures. Back in town, check out the galleries and ever-changing exhibitions by local artists. If you're in the Snowy Mountains, galleries, museums and cultural centres also found nearby.
