South Coast

Beginning in the Royal National Park and running down through Wollongong, Kiama, Nowra and on to Bateman’s Bay and Bega, the South Coast is a popular holiday destination known for its beaches, natural attractions and diverse landscapes. From the rainforest-like bushland of the seaside towns to the north of Wollongong, to the cliffs and rolling green hills of the Kiama area, to the placid waters of Bateman’s Bay and the Eurobodalla, each new stop along the journey brings with it brand new scenery.

The South Coast boasts more than 30 national parks, nature and marine reserves. The South Coast is the place of bushwalks, waterfalls and wildlife parks, but also great for beach activities like swimming, snorkelling and surfing. The region is also known as a bit of a foodie destination, with highly-regarded restaurants, local markets, and wine, dairy, and fruit producers in residence. Here you can try freshly shucked Clyde River oysters, take a Shoalhaven wine tour, or do a cheese tasting at a local dairy.
