Throughout December, the Hunter Valley Gardens will be transformed for the annual Christmas Lights Spectacular. Get into the Christmas spirit as you celebrate the biggest day of the holiday season in the beautiful Hunter Valley. There will be fun-filled events for the whole family, including Santa’s Workshop, Letters to Santa and a chance to get a snap with the man himself. With over two million Christmas lights on display, this magical event is not to be missed.

The Young region is well known for its cherries and will spend the first weekend of December hosting the annual National Cherry Festival. 2016 will mark the 67th year of the festival and showcases the best regional produce at the height of cherry-picking season. Events being held across the weekend include a cherry pie eating competition, a cherry pip spitting competition, live music, market stalls, and the Cherry Festival Street Parade.

Festival Of The Sun is an annual music festival showcasing the best in live music. Now in its 12th year, festival organisers have announced a ‘deep sea’ theme and a lineup featuring a heady mix of alternative sounds. Headlined by Gang Of Youths, other program highlights include Seth Sentry, The Smith Street Band and Dune Rats.
