Wupa at Wanaruah
Friday 21 September to Wednesday 31 October 2012
Wupa is the Aboriginal Wanaruah word 'to make or to paint'. The Wupa at Wanaruah exhibition which involves 15 to 18 local Aboriginal artists creates a progressive Aboriginal Art Trail over the vineyards that visitors can follow.
The six venues that are engaged in the trail would be within a 10 kilometre radius in high traffic areas enabling people to visit each venue so as to experience the true diversity of the exhibition whilst enabling the participating artists to expose their artwork to a broader audience. Each venue will have two featured artists in residence who reside from having their work displayed and would make themselves available for a series of Master Class workshops and educational classes teaching colour and symbolism and the stories behind their art and culture. People and tourists can not only watch the artists work but can have a hands on educational and cultural experience.
